Our dedicated staff looks forward to guiding you through a virtual or in-person tour of our campus facilities and classrooms. During the tour, we'll delve into the learning program and introduce prospective families to the Director and other administrators. Complete the ONLINE APPLICATION. The following documents will need to be uploaded:

• Passport. Copy of student and parents passport and/or birth certificate
• School Records. Copy of previous school records and transcripts
• Immunization Records. Copy of immunization records
• Passport Size Photo. One passport size photo of students and parents

Pay the one-time $300 application processing and testing fee.

Upon receiving your comprehensive application, our Admissions Team will conduct a thorough review, giving careful consideration to each detail. In certain cases, we may reach out to you for additional information.

Following the initial review, we will contact you to coordinate a placement test and interview for your child. The test will cover reading, language, and mathematics for students aged 6 and above, while the interview will be conducted by the School Director.

For students aged 6 and up, the MAP entrance test assesses knowledge in Reading, Mathematics, and Language Usage, all conducted in English. Additionally, students aged 8 and older may be requested to complete a written essay as part of the evaluation process.

At Quality School International of Dushanbe, age is a primary factor in placement. However, for Reading, Writing, and Mathematics, there is potential for children to move to a different level based on their academic achievement, evaluated through multiple measures. This entails completing appropriate assessments after registration, with teachers convening to discuss the student's placement. The ultimate decision rests with the director. Data used in determining placement includes the NWEA Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) computerized adaptive test, supplemented by teacher observations.

Once we have made a decision about your application, we will notify you via email. There are three main outcomes:

• You receive an acceptance: If your application is successful and we have an available spot, we will offer you a place at our school.
• Your child is placed on the waiting list: If we accept an applicant but no spots are available in the appropriate class, we will place the applicant on our waiting list. As soon as a spot becomes available, it will be offered to a suitable student on the waiting list.
• The candidate is not accepted: Unfortunately, there are times when we have to decline admission to candidates if the Admissions Committee determines that our school may not be the best fit for the student.

Yes, documents that you submit for admissions must be officially translated into English.

We accept applications and offer admission at any time in the school year.  Children who are 3 years old or older before October 31^st are eligible.

We make every attempt to make the admissions process as quick as possible.  There are “busy seasons” that can make the admissions process take several days, or at other times the admissions process can proceed in just a few days.  You can help the process go faster by having your documents ready, and being available for the soonest appointments offered.

A non-refundable 300 USD application fee, per child, is due at the time of the Admissions appointment.  This fee is non-refundable and must be paid in cash.  Tuition is invoiced after your child begins school.

Younger children do not need to be English speakers when beginning at our school (they will be speaking English very quickly after joining us thanks to our Intensive English program!).  Students applying to the secondary school must show an adequate level of English proficiency such that they are able to complete work in their academic courses.  Students who are joining us at age 12 or 13 will need to be ready to reach the secondary English proficiency level before starting secondary (high) school.

While accidents do happen with young children, the preschool requires that all children are no longer wearing diapers and can use the toilet.  

Each child is considered to be a separate applicant to the school. There are no “sibling” discounts.  We make every effort to welcome sibling groups and accommodate campus choices with families in mind.

• QSI admits students with limited learning needs, challenges, or disabilities once it has been determined that the student can succeed at the school. 

• For students with moderate to severe disabilities, the school will review additional information including evaluations, reports, IEPs, or school referrals required to help the school assess whether a program can be provided to meet the academic needs of the applicant. 

• Students identified with challenges that the school is unable to effectively address can be denied admission to the school.

A student’s placement in a grade level or class is decided upon by the Director after the student has completed the admissions process. QSI places all students according to age first and foremost, with consideration for their last grade completed. For secondary (high school-aged) students, both MAP results and previous school records are evaluated closely to determine placement in the secondary program. Secondary students (ages 14–18) must show English language proficiency at a high enough level to be successful in earning a high school diploma.

To enter the 5-year-old class, a child will have completed 5 years of age no later than 1 November. This pattern is applied to the other classes throughout the school, but some exceptions do apply. An exception to this policy can be discussed with the Director of Instruction after completing the admissions process.

Please note: children who enroll from schools with an academic calendar different from August to June (for example, January to November) will be placed in the grade in which they are currently enrolled if enrolling at the beginning of the school year in August. Mid-year applicants will be enrolled in the grade which they have just completed. This pattern is applied to all classes throughout the school, but some exceptions do apply. An exception to this policy can be discussed with the Director after completing admissions.
