QSID 3- and 4-Year-Old Program
The preschool at QSI-Dushanbe is a caring community for children who are three or four years old. The combined-age class offers a developmentally appropriate program, with small groups activities allowing the lead teacher and assistant teacher to differentiate for different ages and skill levels. All classes are taught in English. In addition to focused time devoted to the academic areas of literacy and numeracy, the students are immersed in a variety of activities that focus on the whole child: physical, intellectual, emotional, social and moral aspects. QSI Success Orientations are taught as an integral part of the program. Students complete this program with the foundation to help them be successful in the following school years.
Preschool Program
Learning through play is the focus of our preschool program. Students in our 3-and-4-year-old combined age preschool class are part of a caring community, focused on making friends, adapting to classroom routines, and developing both gross and fine motor skills. Through games and small group activities, they students gradually develop beginning literacy and numeracy skills. My assistant teacher and I plan together to ensure that the activities used to teach academic skills are FUN and developmentally appropriate.
