Eco-School

Since 2016, QSI Dushanbe has worked toward becoming an Eco-School member.  As part of this effort, our Eco-Committee has developed an action plan that includes a wide variety of activities and events – from paper recycling to composting, from Earth Day to Carbon Footprint day.  Through these activities and events, we not only hope to become an Eco-School member (application submitted Spring 2021) but also to show an increase of 4% of the overall average score from the beginning of the year to the end of the year on student assessments according to the annual environmental theme(s).

The goal of becoming an Eco-School, and the projects undertaken as part of this initiative, have become an integral part of our school culture.  In every classroom, whether the students are 6 years old or 16 years old, they are able to speak about environmental issues.  They understand the need to reduce, reuse and recycle, and they are conscious of environmental contaminants.  We believe that this understanding will make them better global citizens and, as a school, we look forward to continuing our commitment to environmental issues.
